Flandria Illustrata is a historiographical and cartographic work in 1641 by the Flemish canon Anthony Sanderus .
It mainly contains descriptions of towns and villages of the former county of Flanders ,
in addition to a description of their graves and bishops .
Often a map or drawing of a city or village added. The work went through several reprints in 1735 and was also published in Dutch under the title Verheerlykt Vlaandre.
Today, the text of Flandria Illustrata little as objectively considered, the source mainly because of its beautiful maps and drawings appreciated.
