Date 1711-16
One of the finest architectural works of the German baroque period. The plates were engraved by several masters, including Bodenehr, Engelbrecht, Probst, and Kraus.
They illustrate the elder Decker's designs for royal palaces and country houses, with details of their interior decoration, gateways, gardens, grottoes, orangeries, fountains, etc. Berlin Katalog der Omamentstich-Sammlung 1990.
Condition: Excellent.  Browning along centre fold,
no tears or foxing. Paper colour, creamy white.
Handcoloured in watercolour.
Plate size 12 x 16 1/2 inches.

 TREILLAGE EXECUTE A BELLEVUE
 Copperplate engraving by Daumont circa 1760.
 Good strong image of garden trellis work designed  for the Bellevue gardens in Paris. This engraving also  shows four fountains in the foreground.
 The paper is good quality, but bears a few minor  worm holes, and is a bit grubby, but is in good  condition for its age.
 Size of engraving 11 1/2"x 17"

This map shows the street names and gardens of an area near to Paris.
Copperplate engraving by H.Van Loonfecit C1705.
Condition is excellent with the exception of a rust mark near the centre of the engraving.

 PETERS PUMP
 Stood formerly in Peter Street. Now stands at the  source of the river Stour in Wiltshire.
 A well executed Original Watercolour. Painted by  J.W. HISLOP 1899.
 The painting is from a portfolio of his works, which  we managed to aquire approx 20 years ago. The  condition is as fresh as the day it was painted. It has  been laid onto card, presumably by the artist.
 Size of Image 10 1/2"x 7 1/2" There is a 1/4"
 border around the edge of the painting.

George Andreas Böckler
(1648 – 1685),
“Architectura Curiosa Nova” published in 1664 in Nuremberg, Germany. Böckler, a German architect and engineer from Nuremberg was fascinated with water-raising devices, mills and other industrial machinery, fountains and all things mechanical, especially machines with many gears and complex moving parts.
